Using its extensive experience from marine emission abatement technologies to develop an onboard CCS solution is a key element in this. Sigurd Some Jenssen, Director Exhaust Gas Cleaning, oversees Wärtsilä's CCS program.

For the past 7 years, he has served as the CEO of the Cockett Group (https://www.cockettgroup.com), one of the world's leading resellers of marine and petroleum products and services, where he has played a pivotal role in driving the company's success.

Jason Joannou

Jason is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Aleph Commodities. Bringing 20+ years experience in commodities trading and investments, Jason was formerly a partner at Engelhart Commodities Trading Partners, having previously held roles in structuring, trading and origination at Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Macquarie and UBS. Jason is a graduate of Duke University.

Shane Perl

Shane Perl is founder of Alpen Group – a firm that focuses on the heavy fuel oils as a feedstock in the Carbon Black value chain. Alpen Group has three primary pillars relating to heavy fuels: consulting, logistics & supply of Carbon Black feedstocks and sustainable/circular fuels entering the Carbon Black value chain.

Philip Hill
Quadrise
Philip is the COO of Quadrise, based in London, and has over 20 years of experience in fuels, manufacturing, sales and distribution. He started his career with BP where he held a number of directorships in joint ventures and worked to develop and license gas-to-liquids technology for downstream and synthetic biofuel applications.

David Fereres
JDF Commodities
David founded JDF Commodities as a Financial/Oil Consultant in 2018, based out of Paris. He is currently a consultant for Penthol. David started his career in 2009 at SGCIB as a Credit Derivatives Structurer, followed by Barry Rogliano Salles as an Analyst on Tanker Markets in 2010 and later, Vilma Oil as a Fuel Oil Trader and Libra Fearnley Energy to set up the fuel oil brokerage branch of the company. David graduated as a Signal Processing Engineer at ESME Sudria in 2007 and received a Master’s Degree in Financial Markets from ENSAE ParisTech in 2009.

Christophe El Kati
Oman Oil Marketing Company
Christophe is Head of Marine & Bunkers for Oman Oil Marketing Company. Prior to that he was a Senior Manager of Cargo and Bunker Trading at PMG Holding and a Senior Trader in Cepsa’s Dubai office.

Nuno Matos
Eco-Oil
Nuno has been the general manager of Eco-Oil since 2008. In 2022 he led ISCC Plus certification team to achieving the first Sustainable Fuel Oil in the world. In 2018, Nuno co-founded the Portuguese Association of Fuel Oil Recycling and currently serves as Vice President. Before Eco-Oil, Nuno held executive management positions in Galp Energia and was the Commercial Director of De Viris, an environmental company. Prior to that, Nuno worked as a Project Engineer in EDP and Procesl. Nuno holds a degree in Technological Chemistry from the University of Lisbon and two graduate level degrees in management from Catholic University of Portugal.

Xavier Lara
Aelius Energies
He is the CEO at the international consultancy company AELIUS Energies as well as the CEO of the Santa Cruz Termosolar SPV (50 MW CT CSP + 5 MW PV). He is EU’s European Climate Pact Ambassador in Spain, focused in the decarbonization of the generation sector and also the industry by the development of green Hydrogreen and green Ammonia facilities powered by hybrid CSP-PV in Spain and Morocco. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the worldwide Ammonia Energy Association (AEA).
